Paul Avila
Barber & Owner
Paul became a licensed barber and worked under Louis’ Barbershop his first year and in 2014 became the owner of Valley Cutz until 2019 when him and his wife Jessica opened Avila’s Barbershop and Salon.
With more than 11 years of experience, Paul specializes in flat tops, fades, tapers, retro/modern haircuts, and beard trims. He offers hot towel shaves and derma planing.

Jessica Avila
Stylist & Owner
Jessica, also known as Poised Von J, holds the title of APG #17 (American Pomade Girl). She is a published pinup model and skilled hair artist known for her creativity behind the chair. Throughout her career, Jessica has given back to her community by donating her hairstyling services to support local up-and-coming entrepreneurs in fashion shows (2015 & 2017). She has also mentored and trained three apprentices, sharing her knowledge and passion to help grow the next generation of artists. In 2023 and 2024, she served as a judge for the Miss 50’s Roadhouse Pinup Contest, further establishing her presence within the pinup community. Jessica also had the honor of working with PCNY Concierge Inc., assisting with hair and makeup for Univision Deportes television personalities during the Concacaf Gold Cup 2023 (Mexico vs. Qatar). Her work as a photographer has earned her two cover features in Dream Beauty Magazine, along with a special exclusive interview in issue #14.
Fluent in Spanish, English, and American Sign Language (ASL), Jessica connects with a wide range of clients, but most importantly, she communicates through her artistry, bringing confidence and individuality to every person she styles. Jessica specializes in retro & formal modern hairstyles, haircuts, corrective hair color and haircuts, blonding of hair, and perms. She offers hair/scalp treatments, and waxing services.

Priscilla Campos
Stylist
Priscilla, also known as the “Makeup Guru,” is a self-taught makeup artist with an impressive and diverse background in the beauty industry. She worked as a makeup artist on the film “Itsy Bitsy!” which premiered in 2019. She is both a licensed cosmetologist and esthetician, as well as a published pinup model and talented hair artist. Her work has earned her recognition, including a cover feature with “Kat Club” a special edition appearance in Retro Lovely Magazine. Fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, Priscilla connects with a wide range of clients and communities. In 2024, she became the West Coast Ambassador for Jordan’s Guardian Angels, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with a rare syndrome, and in 2025, she created and hosted the fundraising event Carnival for a Cause, benefiting Jordan’s Guardian Angels 501(c)(3), further showcasing her passion for advocacy and community impact.
With 15 years of experience, Priscilla specializes in make-up for special events and special effects as well as fantasy colors, blonding services, and color corrections. She offers waxing services, haircuts, hair treatments, eyebrow sculpting, and hairapy for all clients. Her creativity branches out to more than just hair and makeup, she is a proud owner of a small business creating clay earrings which are available to purchase in shop.

Amelia Mendoza
Stylist
Amelia proudly holds the title as Miss Cen Cal 2022 and has been published as a pin up model in Retro Lovely Magazine. Amelia has assisted in behind the scenes set for the movie “Itsy Bitsy” (2019). She has also assisted as hair and makeup crew for a local fashion show. In her spare time, you can find her traveling, spoiling her fur babies, or getting down in the kitchen.
Amelia is our curly hair specialist that loves transforming curls, educating her clients on home care, products and embracing their natural curls. She offers a variety of services such as perms, hairstyling, hair treatments, hair color, wax services, and haircutting.

Noelle Aguilar

With over three years of experience, Noelle is excited to join the Avila’s team. Born and raised in Merced, she’s proud to serve her local community while building meaningful connections with her clients. She has a true passion for haircutting and hair coloring, always striving to bring out the best in every client. Known for her easygoing personality and willingness to help others, Noelle is dedicated to making you feel confident, refreshed, and completely in love with your hair. Whether you’re ready for a bold change or simply looking to enhance your current style, she’s here to bring your hair goals to life.
Noelle loves hiking, trying new things, traveling, and diving into creative crafts and activities. She has a deep love for movies, always on the hunt for something intriguing, along with a wide appreciation for all genres of music. In her free time, she also enjoys writing poetry as a way to express her creativity.
